Free event celebrating North Shields 800 and the heritage of the Albert Edward Dock, now the home of the Royal Quays Marina.

Saturday 16 August: Join us at Royal Quays Marina on the banks of the Tyne for an afternoon of music from Backworth Colliery Band & Backworth Male Voice Choir.  We're delighted to welcome Backworth Colliery Brass Band for a return visit to Royal Quays and this year they will be joined by The Backworth Male Voice Choir. You can look forward to a great concert of popular, stirring and familiar music for brass and voices.

Sunday 17 August: Join us for an afternoon of music from the North Shields-based Mariners & Marras Community Singing Group (12.30 to 1.15 pm) who will be exploring a rich vein of shanties & traditional songs. Then enjoy the big sound of the Tyne Valley Big Band (2pm to 4pm) as they play a set of summer swing music at the Marina, accompanied by the fabulous vocals of Barbara Hignett.
