Discover the fascinating history of shopping in North Shields and celebrate today's thriving independent businesses through an exciting collaboration between Remembering The Past and Northumbria University. This exhibition and research project celebrates memories of 20th century shopping in the town, whilst encouraging visitors to think about their hopes for the future of North Shields town centre. What are your favourite shops in North Shields, past and present? Can the sense of community associated with shopping in the past still be found in the current day?

Made possible thanks to National Lottery players through the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
