The Linskill Centre
As part of North Shields 800, the Linskill Centre is hosting a Portrait & Heritage Day, a free, family-friendly event celebrating the people, stories, and creativity of North Shields.
Visitors can enjoy:
● A portrait exhibition by students of local artist Anita Brain Tyrell
● Live sketching workshops open to all
● Short heritage “Postcard Talks” with historian Kieran-Ann
● Children’s art zone with creative activities
● Interactive displays and memory-sharing stations
The event highlights the theme “Our Shields, Our Stories”, connecting the town’s past and present through community voices, while raising awareness of the Linskill Centre’s charitable work in arts, heritage, and wellbeing.
